Jon's next project will be the part of Hollis Bessemer in the new Stephen Sondheim musical, Road Show, which premieres at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London from 24th June. It is based on the real lives of two of the most colourful and outrageous fortune seekers in American history and stars David Bedella, Michael Jibson, Jon and Gillian Bevan. Jon begins a UK tour with the first lady of musical theatre Elaine Paige later this month. As guest vocalist, he will be singing some solo numbers and dueting with Elaine as well as singing backup for her numbers. It takes place on October 14th at the Leicester Square Theatre and once again features appearances from the talented Gina Beck (Phantom of the Opera's Christine) and Russell Whitehead (Chicago). Jon is back in Avenue Q for one night only when the show moves to the Geilgud Theatre on June 1st. Following on from its sell-out debut in 2007, TheatreMAD's FLAUNT IT! - a night of gender-swapping show tunes with your favourite West End stars - returns on 30th October 2008 to the Fortune Theatre.
FLAUNT IT! 2008 follows one simple rule: boys sing girls songs and girls sing boys songs. Jon joins a great line-up which includes Daniel Boys, Earl Carpenter, Anna-Jane Casey, Joanne Farrell, Josefina Gabrielle, Scott Garnham, Louise Gold, Simon Green, Carl Mullaney, Amy Pemberton, Sophia Ragavelas, David Thaxton and Liam Tamne. And if you're quick you can catch Jon tonight playing some of his favorite covers and, for the first time in London, his own material at an acoustic rock gig entitled A Festival Of Misery at The 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street.
The gig is headlined by Drew Sarich (Jean Valjean in Les Miserables). Drew has released several albums with his band International Victim as well as being one of Europe, Broadway and The West End's main leading men in Musical Theatre. He will be supported by Jon, David Thaxton and friends from the show's crew. Doors open at 7.30 and entry will be £3.
From Monday Jon begins rehearsals for one of the biggest and longest running shows in London. He will join the cast of Les Misérables, now in its 22nd year, on 23rd June. Les Misérables is on at the Queen's Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. Tickets are available from the official website.
